use agriculture to manage wetlands -    Kooragang City Farm

We set up Kooragang City Farm in 1995 to investigate and demonstrate ways of using agricultural activities to protect and enhance natural ecosystems, especially coastal wetlands. On-ground works began in 1996.

The farm now helps manage 150 hectares which includes wetlands, protected riverbanks, wildlife corridors, community gardens, an orchard and 90 hectares of managed pasture. (For more details see the Kooragang City Farm section.)
