Improving biodiversity, rivers and wetlands

The Hunter-Central Rivers Catchment Management Authority is working in partnership with communities in our region to protect and enhance our unique biodiversity, rivers, creeks and wetlands.


Addressing soil erosion and salinity

The Hunter-Central Rivers Catchment Management Authority is working to support landholders and land managers to rehabilitate land affected by erosion and salinity and prevent future salinity problems within our region.

The Hunter-Central Rivers Catchment Management Authority is working to support landholders and land managers to improve soil health and increase soil carbon within the Hunter-Central Rivers region by changing land management practices.

Improving water quality in the Great Lakes

In 2011-12 the Hunter-Central Rivers CMA is working in partnership with Great Lakes Council to support landholders in the Wallis and Myall Catchments to implement on-ground works which improve water quality both on and off the farm that will address priority actions in the Great Lakes Water Quality Improvement Plan.


Promoting partnerships

In 2011-12, the Hunter-Central Rivers Catchment Management Authority (CMA) invested $991,475 in 2 year partnership projects with Local Government, NSW State Government Agencies and Non Government Organisations. 18 on-ground projects have been funded for delivery in 2011-12 and 2012-13 delivering on specific management targets in the Hunter-Central Rivers Catchment Action Plan (CAP).

Communities Caring for Catchments

In 2011-12, the Hunter-Central Rivers Catchment Management Authority has invested $315,300 to support local government and non-government organisations to implement projects that integrate capacity building and education activities with on-ground works to address specific management targets in the Hunter-Central Rivers Catchment Action Plan (CAP).

Community Network Support

In 2011-12, the Hunter-Central Rivers Catchment Management Authority has invested $77,500 to support community natural resource management networks within our region with projects that deliver on management targets in the Hunter-Central Rivers Catchment Action Plan (CAP).
